The Denver Broncos finally got their quarterback that they have been waiting to get since the Payton Manning days. The Broncos traded for Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson this offseason for tight end Noah Fant, quarterback Drew Lock and
defensive end Shelby Harris.
Even though Wilson was injured last year, much of the NFL media think that the Broncos could be one of the best in the AFC because of their strong defense and the weapons they have on offense with wide receivers Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy.
Wilson threw for over 3,000 yards and 20 touchdowns in every season as a pro and also won a Super Bowl Ring with the Seahawks.
The Broncos are trying to get back on top of the AFC West, but this is probably the hardest division in the NFL with the Los Angeles Chargers, who signed former New England Patriots cornerback JC Jackson and star linebacker Khalil Mack to spice up their defense, the Kansas City Chiefs led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and the Las Vegas Raiders, who acquired star wide receiver Devante Adams from the Green Bay Packers.
This division definley has the best quarterback class with Justin Herbert, Patrick Mahomes, Derrick Carr and now Wilson. The Broncos are going to be the team everyone is going to want to watch in the upcoming season because no one truly knows their identity. Are they going to be a pass-first team or run first team? The last time the Broncos made it to the playoffs was in 2015, and that was the year they went to the Super Bowl and won, but that was also the year Payton Manning retired. They will look to get back to the playoffs – and the Super Bowl – with another Hall of Fame quarterback under center.
