2022 Cincinnati Bengals Season Preview

By Jamai Ofori

Cincinnati Bengals went to their third Super Bowl during the 2021 season, but came up short to quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams. The Bengals had an amazing offseason by keeping key pieces and adding to one of the positions that struggled was the offensive line.

They signed former New England Patriots center Ted Karras to a three-year, $18M deal. The Bengals are trying to go back to the Super Bowl this season, but it won’t be easy because the AFC is a very good conference with teams such as the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens , Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and even the Denver Broncos with the addition of quarterback Russell Wilson.

If the Bengals offense plays the way they played last year, they will be able to make it back to the Super Bowl. They just have to protect quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receiver Ja’Maar Chase, the team’s dynamic duo.

Chase was the 2021 NFL Rookie of the Year, and was third in the league with receiving touchdowns. Burrow played his best football in 2021, as well. His completion percentage was 70.4 with 4,611 passing yards and 34 touchdowns.

The Bengals brought in another weapon for Burrow in tight end Hayden Hurst, signing him to a one-year contract. This signing replaces tight end CJ Uzomah, who was a big contributor during their Super Bowl run. The Bengals are definitely feeling confident for the 2022 season with everyone healthy and ready to get back to work.
